作者介紹
泰戈爾
(Rabindranath Tagore, 1861-1941)，出身印度加爾各答望族。曾赴英修習法律，不久放棄，返回印度，專心文學創作。一生創作極豐，有詩哲之美譽，於一九一三年獲諾貝爾文學獎。

夏天的飛鳥
come to my window to sing and fly away
飛到我的窗前唱歌 又飛去了
And yellow leaves of autumn
秋天的黃葉
which have no songs
它們沒有什麼可唱
flutter and fall there with a sign
只歎息一聲 飛落在那裡
o troupe of little vagrants of the world
世界上的一隊小小的漂泊者呀
leave your footprints in my words
請留下你們的足印在我的文字裡
the world puts off its mask
世界對著它的愛人
of vastness to its lover
把它浩瀚的面具揭下了
it becomes small as one song
它變小了 小如一首歌
as one kiss of the eternal
小如一回永恒的接吻
it is the tears of the earth
是大地的淚點
that keep her smiles in bloom
使她的微笑保持著青春不謝
the mighty desert is burning
無垠的沙漠熱烈地
for the love of a bladeof grass
追求一葉綠草的愛
who shakes her head
她搖搖頭
and laughs and flies away
笑著飛開了
